The UBC School of Dentistry celebrated the opening of its new Elizabeth Fry (EFry) Wellness Centre, which provides care for vulnerable girls and children in British Columbia.

EFry Wellbeing Providers Society Government Director Kathy Marchal spoke at the event about the centre’s deal to provide an area for holistic, trauma-informed and culturally safe wellbeing care. A capability tour was held along with a Q&A panel.

UBC School of Dentistry and Dental Hygiene students will receive training from the UBC University to refer patients to restorative, preventive and emergency service providers. Dr. Ishtpreet Kaur MANgat is a medical educator at the Center Dental Clinic and specializes in holistic approaches to treatment. Centers should integrate medical and psychological wellbeing support with dental providers.
