The University at Buffalo’s Department of Orthodontics honored Stephen Aszkler for his dedication and repair to the department with the inaugural S. Aszkler Distinguished Service Award.

Stephen Aszkler first opened his following in 1973, joined the UB Faculty of Dental Medicine as a volunteer college member in 2008, and became a formal Assistant Professor of Science in 2010. The 81-year-old orthodontist continues to perform on campus two days a week. .

Despite spanning the past 50 years of follow-up, Aszkler continues to maintain technical alignment with orthodontics and shares his data with orthodontic college students at UB.

“When my youngest son, Robert, graduated from UB Dental School and joined UB, he became the catalyst for many changes. Many problems have grown computerized. He brought us into the 21st century,” says Aszkler. “It has given me exposure to the latest practices through working with him and with UB’s various college members and residents.”
