It’s been a really great year for new drugstore makeup! We’ve had so many beauty hits over the past twelve months that have made their way into my personal routine, becoming staples in my collection.

Out of everything released this year, these five products stand out as the best drugstore makeup of 2023. A few are viral TikTok favorites and totally worth the hype, others just impressed me so much that they’ve earned a permanent spot in my beauty bag .

1. Maybelline SuperStay 24H Skin Tint + Vitamin C

There have been several releases of foundations and skin tones this year, but I don’t think any have had the best showing of Maybelline SuperStay Skin Tint. This product exceeded my expectations in terms of both coverage and wear time. Although it is called a shade, buildable to medium full coverage while maintaining a lightweight feel. It also holds up incredibly well, even in sweat and humidity. I personally tested it during a long, humid day and night dancing on the Eras Tour, where it still looked amazing at the end of the show! 2. elf Cosmetics Suntouchable! Woah Glow Sunscreen Primer

It can be really hard to find an SPF that looks great on its own and under makeup, but elf nailed it with this one! The Woah Glow Sunscreen Primer gives the skin a radiant glow while protecting it with broad-spectrum SPF 30. On its own, it gives your skin freshness, under makeup it gives you a healthy glow that’s not overdone.

3. Milani gold eyeshadow

This year more than ever I’m wearing simple eye looks, mostly created with eyeshadow. I love how easy they are to swipe and blend with fingers and Gold-plated eye shadows by Milani were a welcome addition to my collection. 4. ColourPop Ultra Blotted Lip (Reworded)

Although this product may seem familiar from years ago, ColourPop Ultra Blotted Lips were reissued by the brand this year. Now they have a more comfortable, hydrating formula that’s also less prone to shedding. Ever since they were re-launched, they’ve been a staple on me – especially the shade ‘Still An Icon’ (shown above), which is a shade for your lips, but better for me. The absorbent finish is smooth and softly matte without looking or feeling dry, and the creamy texture helps reduce the appearance of lines on my lips for a plumper look.

5. Kiss imPRESS Press On Falsies

They might take the cake for my favorite beauty issue of 2023, and probably the last five years to be honest! These Press On Falsies are lash clusters that you stick on without glue and can last 24 hours (or more) if you’re careful. Not only do I love the ease of application, but I also think the finished product looks much cleaner than strip lashes. Because the clusters are applied under your natural lashes, there are no visible bands when you close your eyes.
