That’s likely – one of the most asked questions right now before weddings is about semi-permanent eyelash extensions

Should we or shouldn’t we? – get eyelash extensions for my wedding?

It’s really up to you, but there are some facts you should know before proceeding as it can be quite a commitment

Individual eyelashes Most makeup artists will always use individual lashes on their brides, these lashes only last 48 hours but feel completely natural.

The most important thing is that your artist is certified and licensed! Being licensed means they trained with a recognized lash artist or industry brand

This means they have at least basic knowledge of bacterial hygiene and application techniques for long-term lash health.

Be sure to do a skin test for allergies before you start. The main ingredient of the glue is cyanoacrylate, a quick-drying agent

This compound is made of cyanide and acrylate and many people can have an allergic reaction.

A full set of lashes takes about 2-3 hours, refills about 11/2 hours every 3-4 weeks.

From my experience and talking to people who have had eyelash extensions, the first few days are the best, they look full, lush and natural.

This goes on for about 2 weeks, after 2 weeks they start crossing over each other and become rare.

No matter how much you brush and care for them, they will of course fall out and sometimes take your natural lashes with them.

The price for the first full set in Barcelona is around €80 – €140.00 and then every 3-4 weeks to recharge it costs around €60 – €90, so it is not cheap and needs quite a lot of maintenance.

You can find cheaper artists but beware going cheap is never a good idea!!

It is important to give your lashes a break every few months and then use a serum to build up your natural lashes, keeping extensions in all the time is not a good idea for your natural lashes.

So, back to the point – If you want to have extensions for your wedding and honeymoon, why not!

On your wedding day, your makeup artist can add a few individual lashes if you’ve lost some along the way. Your makeup artist will also be able to advise you on a good technician if you need a refill when you travel.
