Jen wearing Pangolin Violette Rose cruelty free perfume by Velvet and Sweet Pea's Purrfumery

I am lucky enough to be friends with master perfumers who send me samples of their latest creations! Laurie from Velvet and Sweet Pea’s Purrfumery is a sweetheart and a true animal lover. She shared with me her latest limited edition project, Pangolin Violette Rose. Laurie donates a generous portion of the proceeds to the Pangolin Crisis Fund. Did you know that pangolins are the world’s most traded mammals, used for their meat and scales?

Pangolin Violette Rose has a dark, beauty, vintage feel. The perfume starts off very earthy – the aged sandalwood really comes through on top of the jasmine and candied violet. As the scent blossoms, rose and violet flower petals blend with a hint of cocoa. As you move towards the base notes of Tamil Nadu, New Caledonia sandalwood and orris, it takes on a more powdery feel. It is a very complex fragrance and worthy of being a collector’s item. Admittedly, my nose is not yet trained enough to fully decode this blend. But, I will say, I feel like if the show, Peaky Blinders, had a signature scent, this would be it!

Review of Pangolin Violette Rose Leaping Bunny certified perfume by Velvet and Sweet Pea's Purrfumery

Laurie uses only natural ingredients (no synthetics) and many of her natural ingredients have been aged for over 20 years, which helps deepen the scents and prevents buying over-harvested ingredients like vanilla and sandalwood. She uses organic, wild-crafted or sustainably grown natural products whenever possible.

If your budget allows for this type of luxury fragrance, I highly recommend it. Not only will you feel like a female mob boss from 1920s Birmingham England…or maybe an Egyptian goddess…when you wear it, you’ll also be helping to save the pangolins! Velvet and Sweet Pea’s Purrfumery is Leaping Bunny certified cruelty free.
