Happy Saturday my friend! I’m happy to report that our orange tree, which was down and cracked earlier this week due to all the crazy storms we’ve had lately, is finally in its new home.

I hope the spill didn’t cause her too much trauma and that she’ll be fine! I like the pot El Hub and Connor chose though, so maybe the fall was a blessing in disguise. Maybe it was time for her to get a fresh new look in a bigger space.

Speaking of fresh new looks, I went back to World Market earlier this week to revisit the gray chairs. My coworker who is great with decorating and decorating the home suggested going over there and moving the furniture around the chairs to get a better feel for how they might look styled with other pieces, so that’s exactly what I did!

Honestly, it was pretty fun! I really enjoyed the visual exercise of putting items together to see if I thought they worked.

She also reminded me that to see if something works in your space, you really just have to get it in there, play around with it, and see how you feel about it.

I ended up bringing two chairs home, along with a rug and a side table. Note that this is not the permanent setup and I still need to get quite a few items to complete the space.

I showed these pictures to my colleague and she said I should trust my instincts because it’s on the right track, which was a big relief. It’s weird, I feel like I can put together an outfit or makeup visually quite easily, but with home decorating I’m always so overwhelmed and then can’t decide. It was nice to hear that I have decent design instincts from someone else who loves the stuff.
