Crustless Quiche

Crustless Quiche

For those who want to lighten their meals or just save time on preparation. This crustless quiche is a great alternative. This version retains the creamy texture and essence of the original. At the same time, it is prepared more quickly and the carbohydrate content is reduced. If you want a quiche with a crust, you might like the Spinach and Ricotta Quiche or the Chicken Quiche, which are very popular on my site.

I created this crustless quiche recipe with leftover Easter ham in mind. Because it’s low in carbs and doesn’t require a peel. I then added a little light cream to give the eggs a more creamy custard texture. This is because most quiches have a softer, fluffier baked egg texture than a frittata.

Basic quiche ingredients:

The beauty of quiche lies in its versatility. And frameless is no exception. You can customize this dish to suit your taste or dietary needs by choosing from a variety of fillings. See the full recipe with exact measurements below in the recipe card.

  • egg
  • Milk and Half and Half
  • Grated cheese (choose from options like Swiss, cheddar, mozzarella, or feta)
  • Your choice of filling (broccoli, spinach, mushrooms, diced ham, cooked bacon, sausage, onions, bell peppers)
  • salt and black pepper
  • Optional herbs and spices (e.g. nutmeg, thyme, basil)

How to make a crustless quiche

  1. Preheat the machine to 350F degrees. Spray a pie plate or quiche with oil.
  2. Spread the broccoli evenly on the plate and sprinkle evenly over the ham.
  3. Make the custard mixture by mixing in the milk. Half and half, combine eggs, salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
  4. Pour the custard into a plate and sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, until center is firm.
  6. Cut the quiche into 6 pieces and serve.

Crustless Quiche Format:

  • Swap the ham For bacon, sausage or vegan sausage
  • cheese: Any type of cheese works well here. Try mozzarella, Gruyere, cheddar, or Swiss cheese.
  • milk: You can substitute extra milk for half and half cream. But the texture will not be creamy but will have a softer texture.
  • Personal Ramekins: Make it into individual cups. Instead of one large pie pan
  • shell: If you want to use the shell Follow the instructions for this recipe using a deeper pie plate. And use less broccoli.

Storage space

Refrigerate for 3 to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
