All brides want to look a little tanned on their big day to give them a glow

Start exfoliating your skin and finish waxing a week before the wedding. Wait 24 hours between waxing and each self-tan application, this will ensure the hair follicles have settled to support the perfect finished effect

Before applying self-tanner, remove all products such as deodorant, perfume, etc

Experiment with different shades and colors 8 months before your wedding, then you will know what color you want, what product you like to use on your day.

Use moisturizer as a barrier only on elbows, knees, hands, feet, wrist creases, back of heel and around hairline, also if you have dry areas when applying at home

If you go to a spray tan salon, ask your professional to mix several colors to get your perfect glow, perhaps dark with light.

Please note that if you are coming to Barcelona for your wedding or another hot country, your tan will not last as long due to the heat. It can become streaky and look very fake.

Makeup after tanning is also important to get the right foundation or to inform your makeup artist

Here are a few homemade tans I’ve tested and love

  1. My favorite – Bondi-Sands, the Aussie tan is amazing, use the applicator mitt for easy application and leave for 1 to 6 hours. It smells like coconut and lasts 7-10 days
  1. St Tropez mouse, this goes on very easily, use an applicator glove, it makes the application even.
  1. Clarins’ award-winning sunless tanning gel creates a golden even beach tan on demand
  1. Sensai – This product has a creamy body texture that glides on smoothly, offering highly effective hydration and revealing radiant skin with a silky complexion.

Good luck and have fun working on your tan. If you give yourself 6 months to get the tan you want, you will get the perfect color.

If you’re visiting a professional to get a tan, make sure you try and test the color a few times beforehand.
